your baker

hey, i’m Tenley, and i’ve been baking ever since age 7 when i made really terrible cinnamon rolls for my family. they were hard as rocks, but from that point on, i spent most of my childhood waiting for my tiny hands to catch up to the ideas in my head.

i’ve worked with vegan and gluten free baking over the years, but these days i mostly focus cakes with flavors inspired by the seasons, teas, my travels, and whatever ingredients currently have me wanting to race to the the farmer’s market.

ten candles is a little play on my name. an ode to the wishes, moments, and all the things i’ve hoped into existence (and those to come) over the years. i’ve been making custom cakes for friends and clients for the past year, and after enough people lovingly bullied me into expanding my offerings… here we are.

and i can confidently say these cakes are significantly better than my cinnamon rolls.

how to taste

hosted seasonally to keep things fun & fresh. a curated summer menu focused on fresh fruit, local when possible. pre-order a whole cake (cakes freeze well!), or grab a slice of what’s available.
